About the Scribe
I’m a recent graduate of Cornell College in Iowa where I studied archaeology. I am an avid student of all things archaeological and have participated in a few digs and field schools. My experience includes work in the American Southwest, Iowa and Egypt. While most of my experience is in the American Southwest, my dreams and aspirations lie elsewhere. Since high school I have been enthralled with any subject pertaining to ancient Egypt. It is my dream to someday become a professional Egyptologist. I’ve found that my passion lies in the study of the medicinal practices of the ancient Egyptians. This subject includes the surgeries performed and the herbs used, but also encompasses the religious and magical aspects of the culture. A few more little tidbits of information about myself. I love movies. Action adventure are some of my favorites, like Indiana Jones and the Mummy movies with Brendan Fraser. I also love sappy films like Pride and Prejudice. My most favorite movies of all time are the Lord of the Rings films. Music is very important to me. I play the violin and the piano and constantly have some CD or another playing in the background. My favorite types of music include traditional and modern celtic, Irish pub tunes, soundtracks, oldies, The Beatles, Dean Martin, Glenn Miller, some New Age music and classical. I love to read historical fiction, fantasy and science fiction books. My favorite novel of all time is The Lord of the Rings. I also write poetry and have a couple of novels in the works. I like to draw as well. My parents, biased as they are, have even framed a few of my drawings.

Hi,
You would be amazed by what the Old Kingdom knew about medicine. The healing
benefits of Melatonin was discussed in the Pyramid Texts. Medical journals only
recently divulged and confirmed that the pineal gland releases melatonin, and that
melatonin is what triggers our body’s immune system to regenerate cells, heal
the body and fight diseases while we sleep. And darkness is best! The Pyramid
Texts define darkness: “The light of one candle is too much light”!
Both my associate, Clesson Harvey, my wife and I have been using melatonin since
2004 (When we made the remarkable discovery in the Pyramid Texts). People tell us
that we have slowed down the aging process! When you meet us and learn our real
ages, it will blow your mind.

P.S. I like your hat!
Thanks! I rather like my hat, too…
I am very much interested in ancient Egyptian medicinal practices. When I get into graduate school, I would dearly love to focus on those medicinal practices! Not just the herbals, but the religious aspects of ancient Egyptian medicine, as well.
Thank you so much for reading!

Hey, remember me? Nephthys_09
Hey, remember me? Nephthys_09 from twitter?
Just came across your site and I love it! It’s awesome, man! I’m gonna be a frequent visitor here.
Hey, I love Indiana Jones and Mummy movies too. Believe it or not, I didn’t watch the 3rd mummy movie cos I was so bummed that it wasn’t in Egypt anymore.
You mentioned that you like reading historical fiction. There’s this book I just finished reading. It’s called The Last Secret of the Temple by Paul Sussman. I dunno if you’ve read it before but it’s awesome! It’s about this present day Egyptian detective. The mystery and the case revolves around Egypt, ancient Jerusalem, crusades, the holocaust, cathar heretics, and medieval manuscripts. I found it very much interesting. I think you ought to look it up.
Oh, and yeah. . . Cool hat
I read a bit of your stuff. You’re practically an Egyptologist already! You could take Zahi Hawass’ place when he retires
Sorry if I’m starting to bug you. It’s just that you’re an archaeologist so that’s like WOW!!!
You know Dr. Kara Cooney? I was like bugging her for such a long time. We had an email correspondence about Hatshepsut for some time.
I’ve been in love with Egyptology since I was 6. That’s like 11 years now. Since I can’t be an Egyptologist, I’ve got mad love and respect for those who are and in your case, those who will be Egyptologists.
