Education:
Master’s Degree – University of Memphis, Memphis, Tennessee – 2010-current - Attaining a Master’s Degree in History.
Bachelor of Arts – Cornell College, Mount Vernon, Iowa – 2006-2008 - Designed my Bachelor’s Degree with classes in medical anthropology, archaeology and French language.
- Field school – Columbia University, New York, New York – Spring 2008 - Participated in a three-month, four-course study abroad in Egypt focusing on the New Kingdom, Graeco-Roman period and the excavation of a Graeco-Roman site with a course in spoken Arabic.
- Field School – Nevada State College, Henderson, Nevada – Summer 2007 - Participated in archaeological survey work and site recording pertaining to the Virgin Anasazi.
Associate of Arts – Front Range Community College, Boulder, Colorado – 2001-2006 – Attained my Associate of Arts degree in General Education.
High School – Clonlara High School, Home School Program – 2000-2004 - Designed my own study program, including a history course in ancient Egypt from the Third Dynasty through the Twenty-first Dynasty.
Employment History:
August 2010 – Present – Computer Lab Technician, University of Memphis, Memphis, Tennessee - Work at the computer lab, manning the lab and assisting the students in the lab whenever possible.
April 2010-August 2010 – Archaeological Technician, Kaibab National Forest, Jacob Lake, Arizona - Worked as a crew member for the Kaibab National Forest, organized collected artifacts, assisted in a projectile point analysis for the Grand Canyon National Trust, surveyed for archaeological sites in conflict with recreational use, surveyed for conflicts with prescribed burns and recorded archaeological sites. Worked inputting site information into an online database called INFRA. Used the Trimble Juno GPS with TerraSync. Used the Garmin eTrex GPS. Input site data into a program to prioritize sites during fires.
May 2009-October 2009 – Archaeological Technician, Kaibab National Forest, Jacob Lake, Arizona - Worked as a crew member for the Kaibab National Forest, surveyed for archaeological sites that conflict with recreational use, surveyed for conflicts with timber sales and prescribed burns and recorded archaeological sites. Worked inputting site information into an online database called INFRA. Used the Trimble Juno GPS with both TerraSync and ArcPad softwares.
2008-2009 – Crew Member, Aztec Archaeological Consultants, LLC Aztec, New Mexico - Worked as a crew member for the cultural resource management company, surveying for proposed gas well pads, pipelines and access roads. Wrote site forms and survey reports for each survey conducted.
Summer 2008 – Teaching Assistant, Nevada State College - Worked six weeks in an archaeological field school dealing with Ground Penetrating Radar, survey work and recording Virgin Anasazi sites through NASA funding and its “space archaeology” program.
2006-2008 – Cornell College Commons Assistant, Mount Vernon, Iowa - Ran the Information Desk by fielding telephone calls, personal inquiries, and room setups for various meetings.
Hobbies and Interests:
I am an accomplished violinist having spent many years performing with symphonies and solo. I also enjoy writing fiction and poetry, drawing, photography, baking, and cooking.
